Supporting Capacity Building for an Effective Implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty

The Centre for Peace, Security and Armed Violence Prevention [CPS-AVIP] participated at the second pilot professional training course on the implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty [ATT] organized by the ATT Network, launched by GCSP and the Geneva Forum. The training took place in from 8 to 12 December 2014. Main topics included: The conventional arms trade: global and regional perspectives and trends; history and goals of the Treaty on Arms Trade [ATT]; Infrastructure; Preparations for the first Conference of States Parties to the ATT; Scope of the ATT; existing good practices and standards, export and import control, national control list; brokering and diversion; international cooperation and assistance; information exchange, record keeping and reporting.  See the Geneva forum website for more information.
